The Conductor
Long, long ago, in a far and distant land, the Conductor would step onto his rolling office, grab the radio handset dangling from the cupola, and send this specific message to the Hog Head. "High Ball." He would hear two clicks or a "high ball" back, pause, and radio again, "You've got the slack." After hearing two confirmation clicks, he would slam the handset into its cradle and proceed to review the switch list and waybills. It doesn't work that way anymore...
